"We still haven't found anything down here, after what seems like weeks of searching. My brother and I heard that these lands were rich in minerals and precious stones but that's turning out to be a load of shit. There's a village pretty close to us, some backward superstitious kinda place. The people who live there creep me out. When we told them what we were up to here they refused to give us supplies or lodgings, and we've had to hunker down in the mines to avoid freezing to death.

Many sections have been blocked off by cave-ins. We’re going to have to find a way around if we want to get deeper into this mine. Still no clue who actually built this. Looks like it’s been abandoned for years, and no one has showed up yet to claim it. Guess it’s ours now. It’s weird - there’s still a lot of ore in the walls that hasn’t been taken. Not rare stuff, only iron. But still. Woulda thought someone would have wanted it!
